There is no evil similar to anger, and no discipline like patience. Strive always therefore for tolerance, cultivating it in varied ways.

[ Shantideva ]

When you see others,
Speak calmly, kindly and sincerely
Avoid frowning, closed expressions,
And abide always with a smile.

Pure are your eyes, broad and beautiful, like the petals of a blue lotus.
Pure is your thought, having discovered the supreme transcendence of all trances.
Immeasurable is the ocean of your virtues, the accumulation of your good deeds.
You affirm the path of peace.
Oh, Great Ascetic, obeisance to you!

The Buddha said, “For those who accrue extensive knowledge of
the Way, becoming enamored with it, the Way is difficult to attain.
For those with unwavering resolve in following the Way, the Way
is great indeed.”

The Buddha said to Ananda, “Let the name of this sutra be The Causes of the Retribution of Good and Evil, and let its name also be The Sutra of Righteousness with the Desire of Becoming a Bodhisattva, and let it be understood and kept in that way.”

[…] The Buddha said to Ananda, “ […] tell the disciples that they should take good heed of the Three Jewels and not be at fault and strive in good deeds and not make a retiring mind, for those who believe the words of the Buddha—when Matreiya Buddha shall go out into the world—will at once find salvation, have no doubt of it.”

How wonderful it would be if all sentient beings had happiness and its causes. May they have these. I shall cause them to have these. Guru Chenresig, please inspire me to be able to do so.
